Do they validate the parking??
With covid we had over a 30 minute wait to get a table. Restaurant was only half full.Got a table upstairs and outside with a view of the gulf and Pleasure Pier. Shrimp, crab cake, and salmon was delicious. Service was great and attentive. Would go back again.
MoreOur experience was not great at first. We came in on a Friday night at 9 PM and waited at the host stand for 5 minutes or more before we finally stopped someone to seat us. We were sat at a table for over 10 mins before a waiter named Ivory came to our table and asked if we had been helped. We told him no. He said we were not in his section, but he would take care of us. He made it the most amazing night for us. He did such an amazing job we came back the next night and requested him again. Iβm a general manager at a restaurant in Bryan, TX and this world could do with more servers like him!!
MoreFood is delicious and staff was good. What takes them over the top is they have superman ice cream. I havent had that since I was a child.
MoreAaron was a writer and he was AMAZING!!!! It was a little crowded for a Monday night but we were seated in about 5 minutes. Food was food and came pretty quickly. My one complaint was I was seated by the door leading to the outside seating...door slammed every 5-6 seconds making me jump!
MoreWe love fishtails! The patio upstairs is great. The price are not too outrageous and the food is good. We also like that they have their own parking lot where they validate your parking.
MoreAmazing service and food! All portions were huge and totally worth the money. Our entire party (of 8) also ordered plenty of drinks and extras. Our waiter was on top of every single request and we all had zero negative comments about this place. Every dish was incredible. You also get amazing views of the gulf and pleasure pier.
MoreAwesome place to eat out and a great location! We tried their shrimp kisses, Pleasure Pier pasta, and fish & chips. Loved the food and loved having Shannon as our waiter. Very friendly and gave us a few recommendations! I loved the fish & chips so much, I wish I had ordered it myself so I didn't have to steal a few bites from my husband's plate π
MoreSo I took 4 teenagers for a nice lunch. Our appetizers were amazing, our entrees were delicious and it was OVERALL, a good experience. The service though was a mess. Our server was also the bartender... she was getting her butt totally kicked. Numerous servers were trying to help her. Not once did I see the manager. If he or she would have been helping, checking on guests etc. it would have made a HUGE difference. I'm just being honest...I have no idea what the managers' job is if it's not service related. That is the biggest area that restaurants fall short. We spent $202 and if we hadn't been servers, we wouldn't have tipped.
MoreLevi, our waiter gave us exemplary service! I had the snapper with veggies and a baked potato, it was delicious. Levi suggested some things, gave it a try and was not disappointed. I'd passed this restaurant several times and never stopped. My experience today says I will return and if all the waitstaff are as attentive as Levi, Fishtales now has a fan . Thanks Levi for making the sorrow of not being able to go to the beach and thoroughly enjoy the 4th of July holiday a good one.
MoreVery friendly service, great view of Pleasure Pier and good food. A little spendy. Enjoyed the Gulf breeze while we ate our seafood.
MoreRed snapper was very good. Fun view of the pier and beach, although try to sit on the second floor because the view there is much better than the first floor.
MoreFood was excellent, everything was fresh and we were quickly taken care of with a wonderful server named Shannon. I had the fish tacos, black beans, and rice, and across the board it is my new absolute favorite food/restaurant. We will definitely be back. Price was also fair for the amount of food given, in my opinion it was worth every penny.
MoreWent and had the ice cream there in a waffle cone and was really good everyone should try it
MoreMy order was not put in the system when I initially ordered it. When I arrived to pick it up, I had to wait 30 minutes to talk to a manager. The manager was condescending asking me if I was sure I called the right restaurant. Eventually, he decided to comp our meal 50% and he took our order again. After an hour and fifteen minutes of waiting, my order arrived and was wrong. They decided to give us the food for free and I got the hell out of there. Most of our food was disgusting, highlighted by Brown clam chowder and over salted crab legs. In addition to those food issues, a friend ordered the steak and shrimp and her steak smelled rotten. The drinks are weak and overpriced. This place appears not to be managed well. The one bright spot was my Ahi salad which was quite delicious.
MoreFood was great. Fast and friendly service. Manager Robert was AWESOME. I had 2 large gumbos and 2 orders of fish tacos to go.
MoreEveryone either had an attitude or didnβt care on keeping business. The waiter Shannon (Scooby) was awesome and if it wasnβt for him I probably will never return again. He definitely needs a raise coming from someone thatβs from Oklahoma, people like him are hard to come by!
MoreNot my first time eating there. Great food. Great staff. There was a 2 he wait for a table. We just ordered drinks and sat outside. At least there's that. π
MoreLove the shrimp, calamari, and mix veggies. Delicious appetizers. Friendly staff. Recommend you make a reservation they get pretty busy.
MoreWe choose the restaurant based on the beautiful view. Our waiter had a handful of tables but barely let us finish a sentence before literally running away. Each time he came to the table he barely slowed down and we were left looking around because we were still trying to communicate with him. Several times we tried to flag him down and he walked right past us. Half way through my meal I found a small curly black hair mixed into the rice pilaf. We had to stop a random waiter who just took the plate without a word. A manager came out acting annoyed and tried to say the hair was too small to worry about or that it was our hair. Then just walked off. No apology and acted as if we were an inconvenience. I would never return.
MoreWe had a GREAT experience. The food was great. A little mix up on a plate but it happens. Our waitress was very patient with us and very good at what we needed and what not.
MoreFood was exellent. Service was a little off, did not receive our ordered appetizer. They were slammed but should have done better.
MoreThe service is always good here and many of the staff members have been here a long time. The fish tacos and fried seafood platters are always good, as well as the oysters when they are in season. You will never have to wait very long for a table at lunch, but make a reservation for dinner just to be safe. It gets a little cramped on the inside, so go on a nice day and sit on the open patio upstairs. After you eat, go for a stroll along the Seawall or beach across the street. They will validate your parking after your meal so you don't have to pay the $16 fee. I highly suggest joining the Landry's Select Club for $25 if you are a Houston/Galveston local to get discounts at the many Landry's dining locations around town.
MoreFood was good but a few things need to be addressed. The bar is upstairs and needs more attention other than one bartender. The appetizers and food took a while to come out and wouldve been happier if it were timely. Not sure if it was waitress or kitchen. Not complaining on the flavor by no means just didnt expect to be there that long.
MoreThe best thing about dining here was the patio view. Our server was not wearing his mask properly. When a customer questioned why he was not wearing it correctly, he responded with "I just get tired of it." He also was not attentive at all. As for the food, I applaud the creativity of the chef but it was not executed well. I ordered the bbq wrapped shrimp pasta. The shrimp did not pair well with the pasta nor did the corn. Honestly the shrimp should be an appetizer. I also ordered a margarita which I don't recommend. Overall, the restaurant had poor service, tasteless food, and was overpriced.
MoreWe chose this restaurant for two reasons: good reviews and they take reservations. With it being Memorial Day weekend, we liked being able to make a reservation. Well, they did not have a record of ours, but I was able to show them the confirmation. After that, it just went more and more downhill. We waited over 30 minutes just for a waiter to approach us. (Several passed by and looked at us, too.) The food was terrible, and the staff had bad attitudes. The whole meal took 2.5 hours, mainly us waiting around for them to serve us. I can't believe we wasted nearly $100 on this tonight! Never again!! Being that the restaurants are finally able to be open again, and it being the start of tourist season, I am surprised that they treated us so badly. We are so disappointed!
MoreI love fish tales. The food is great and everyone is generally pretty friendly. I go to fish tales every time I come to Galveston, and I always really enjoy it. Thereβs a great view of the beach and the sea wall with pleasure pier from the deck upstairs. I most definitely recommend fish tales for you if youβre looking for a delicious seafood restaurant. But if you donβt want seafood I still recommend fish tales because they have plenty more than just seafood. You will love it
More3 stars because the view is great. Sit outside upstairs. Food was bland and needed something. I got the fish and chips. The happy hour food is cheap and really tasty. The shrimp cocktail was outstanding.
MoreWe were greeted promptly, got our drink order and appetizer order in a timely manner. However with that being said the service was horrible. I will absolutely NEVER visit this restaurant again. I wish you could give zero stars.
MoreNot impressed. Food was okay, pricey, nothing to brag about. Our waiter was engaging, funny and very attentive.
MoreGreat food very large portion for the price and a great view! Perfect Location next to Pleasure Pier
MoreBusy place But good service, good food. Melissa was great. Thanks
We have been there 3 times now, even had our rehearsal lunch there. All been great (food, service and price) each time. Love this place and a must when on Seawall Blvd. See ya again next year.
MoreRoss was a great server. One of the best I've had in a long time. He was attentive, not overbearing and very informative about the area. I was very pleased with the food. The poblano cream sauce dish was DELICIOUS.
MoreFood is decent & has cool atmosphere. Only draw back we had was our waiter stole my phone! We went to leave then realized I left my phone. So I walk back up stairs and no phone on site. My waiter told me my son must of thrown it over the railing.. So then I Google tracked my phone back to the restaurant then later about 3 miles from there!!
MoreOh my goodness this food is absolutely amazing! They have the best crab cakes that I have ever eaten.
MoreThey claim they have curbside pickup, that is not correct. they do not offer curbside pickup or delivery. Keep in mind you'll have to walk upstairs to the bar to get your order while the employees walk right by you with their mask hanging off their faces. I do not recommend this place.UPDATE: we got home and we're missing 2 coleslaws and my debit card after paying $100 for our meal. Still do not recommend this cold food or the waitress pointing half way across the room telling me "your food is on the bar". The manager did bring my debit card out to the car so I didn't have to go back in, which was probably smart.
MoreFood was amazing, our server Quinn was excellent and the drinks were superb. Excuse the half eaten plates. I forgot to snap the photos before we started eating
MoreGreat food. I recommend eating upstairs. Make sure you validate your parking ticket before you leave the restaurant.
MoreOverall, it was a pretty good experience considering they aren't serving the full menu at this time. The staff was friendly and service was pretty good, just a little slow. The raw oysters were some of the best I've had, but the cocktail sauce was essentially ketchup... I added the fresh horseradish to it and it was so much better! All our food was great and we all enjoyed our meal.
MoreThis was a great experience, the food was fantastic snd Ivory, our server wasone of the best!! Highly recommend
MoreWe stopped at Fish Tales for a quick bite and ordered the calamari and the chicken pineapple skewers. The calamari was one of the best I had. My husband and I order calamari every where we go, we know our calamari. I rate it right there with Nicks Fish market in Chicago and the late Phil Smidts in Hammond. I gave the rating a 4 because the chicken pineapple skewers were a joke. They had 3 thin squares of chicken and 4 chunks of bell pepper. It had a pineapple sauce over it with a side of coleslaw. The flavor was good but very disappointed in the serving size and the lack of chicken. I look forward to returning and trying more seafood.
MoreMy friend and I are here on Saturday night. It was very crowded and there were people that were crabby because they had to wait a while to be seated. Even though the environment was tense, a hostess named Mia was incredibly cool and collected while she took down names, gave estimated wait times, and attempted to de-escalate grumpy customers. Our waiter Vernon was also extremely attentive to our table and very knowledgeable about the menu. I would go here again 100%
MoreWe went here for New Year's to watch the football game and relax. Wonderful place cozy. Great service. We got the gumbo... WOW IT WAS AWESOME!! It is expensive so be prepared.
MoreVery good food. The flamboyant manager that runs the place is mean to the waiters in front of customers. He was running around so fast, we clean colliding into staff and customers.. They need someone to attend the ice cream full time inside. We waited forever. Food was pretty good!
MoreThe waiter Ivory was awesome. It was his second day and he was very helpful. Came from Dallas and he showed some great hospitality. Thank you
MoreYummy food, great deals for happy hour, and a nice view of Pleasure Pier. Not too many happy hour options, but worth the prices! Drinks weren't very strong (my daiquiri tasted virgin, but still yummy).
MoreF'n Amazing! Get the calamari! The fish tacos are awesome. The kids fish and fries were great as well. There is nothing here we had that wasn't great. Service was fantastic too.
MoreBusy place. Good service. Food was very delicious. Kind of expensive but I believe it was worth it. Loved the ambiance sitting outside on the upper deck. Highly recommend if you can spend $150 bill and $25 tip.
